We are here to answer your questions.Our Competition Policy
All stores agree to our competition listing policy. this is the standard we expect your listings to meet.Stores pay £20/month and 20% commission on all sales. Competition Camel processes all payments on behalf of our sellers. Your monthly pay-out will therefore be 80% of your total sales for that period.
You must set-up a PayPal Business Account to receive your monthly earnings.
Competition Camel requires all stores to follow our marketplace standards and guidelines. This ensures the best possible experience for customers, no matter which store they are buying from.
Stock & 'Prizes'
- You must physically own your stock in the quantity and condition listed on Competition Camel Marketplace
- Reasonable exceptions are made when the prize requires customisation, e.g. shoe sizes
- All branded stock must be genuine
- Pre-order, stock in transit, or “drop-shipping” is not permitted
- Cash prize alternatives are always encouraged to help increase sales
Shipping
- Made-to-order or custom items must be shipped and delivered within the timeframe stated in your listing
- Item(s) must be shipped within 3 days of a competition closing
- Maximum delivery time of items is 20 days
It is advisable to include a shipping docket which confirms the order and your Store. It is also a great opportunity to grow repeat business, so including a special promo code or maybe an inexpensive novelty or sweets is worth considering. Always ensure that your order is shipped with care, effort and attention to detail. The small things such as beautifully packaged items make a big difference to customer perceptions of your business and generate positive feedback.
There is no shipping costs for customers, so please factor this in when setting your ticket price and quantities.
Communication
- If a customer has not yet placed an order but has sent you a message, a timely response is recommended to maximise conversion into a sale
- Once a customer has placed an order, respond right away if possible or within one working day at the latest (public holidays are not counted as working days)
Refunds
- Returns are part of doing business online. While you are not obliged to accept returns, it is usually better to accept a return
- This increases the chance of repeat custom and positive feedback rather than leaving a disgruntled customer who may open a PayPal dispute and/or leave negative feedback
Resolving Customer Issues
- Be friendly: the reputation of your boutique is your most valuable asset. A friendly approach to issue resolution strengthens your customer experience
- Be positive: give your customer the benefit of the doubt. Most issues are usually the result of a simple miscommunication or mistaken assumption
- Can-do: stay focused on resolution. Don’t put off an issue until tomorrow if it can be resolved today
- A small sacrifice now will build customer trust, save you time and be beneficial to your business in the long-term
Strictly Forbidden
- Offensive Text & Imagery that contains
- Drugs: illegal drugs, drug lords, glamorising drugs in any form
- Guns, weapons and violence: in any form (unless fantasy/cartoon)
- Cigarettes and alcohol: content that promotes unhealthy behaviour
- Mental health: designs or slogans that trivialise mental health issues
- Body image: designs or slogans that promote body shaming
- Religion: defacing or making fun of religious leaders, festivals or leaders/gods/deities or religious symbols
- Race and culture: designs or slogans that could cause offense to people of different races or cultures
Please email hello@competitioncamel.co.uk before closing your store. You may not remove your Store if you have any open orders.
Customers can pay for items using a credit or debit card, or by using Stripe or PayPal.

Ticket sales are final, unless the competition is not completed.
In the event that a competition is not completed, Competition Camel will process a 100% to the customer. We will also review the seller's status on our marketplace.
A prize may only be returned to the seller only if faulty, in which case the Store will also need to make arrangements to cover the return postage via a direct payment from you to the buyer via PayPal.
Competition listings must be of high quality for the benefit of our customers and our sellers. Please follow our guidelines below.
Product Title
- Product Titles should be clear and specific to the prize in question.
- Customers should be in no-doubt as to the prize they are entering to win.
- Use of spam/all caps is strictly forbidden.
- e.g. "Wow! Win this incredible XXX".
- e.g. "PLAYSTATION 5 CONSOLE DIGITAL EDITION".
- Format to follow, "Brand Name - Product Name - Edition/Style/Colour".
- Example of a good Product Title - "Sony PlayStation 5 Console Digital Edition".
Product Short Description
- Short descriptions are simple features of the prize.
- Use up to five bullet-points to briefly explain key product features.
Product Long Description
- Here you should tell the 'story' of the product and be as detailed as you can.
Images
- Product images must match the prize(s) in question, even down to the specific model, make, colour etc.
- It must be explicitly clear what the prize is for your listing.
- Please don't use:
- Black & White Images.
- Filters on images.
- Someone else’s imagery, unless you have permission.
- Image Size:
- You can upload multiple images for each listing.
- Feature shots that show off all the features of the prize to help inform the customer.
- Images have to be a minimum of 1200 x 1200px.
- If you’re selling branded items, you need to include shots of labels, authentic details and (if available) any receipts and tags.
- We constantly review and monitor all listings to ensure quality standards. Any images that do not follow these rules will be removed.
End Time & Length of Competition
- There are no time extensions to competitions on Competition Camel. Your end date must be final and no more than 60 days from the start date.
- Any stores failing to adhere to this will have their account suspended and withdrawn from the platform.
Competition Camel marketplace may also run events and promotions across all stores.
We may offer customers 15% off all purchases on our website for a limited time. In this case, the cost is absorbed by Competition Camel.
E.g. Competition Camel will only receive 5% commission (instead of 20%) from sales during this event or promotion. We increase conversions for all our sellers, at no extra cost to you!
